Philosophy ('philo-sophia') : literally "to stand with the knowledge." The term "knowledge" comes from sophos, "wise", which recalls the adjective saphes ("clear", "manifest", "clear", "true"). Philo is the prefix indicating "stand on the side of", "take care", etc..
The philosophy is that place of knowledge in which knowledge is the only referent intellect, reason and its laws . And 'because of this idea, which is unprecedented at the time of its appearance, the man decides to investigate the world with the help only of their cognitive abilities. The appearance of the philosophical method means expulsion from the myth of the world away from the explanation provided by the popular beliefs and religious traditions.
